DTC U0140-00: Lost Communication With Body Control Module [07/2015 - ]: Contents

DESCRIPTION Communication error with main body ECU
DETECTION CONDITION
  • Power source control (power management control ECU) could not receive the CAN signal from the main body ECU for 2 s or more with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).
FAIL-SAFE Exterior lighting system 
  • When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the headlights LO, TNS (Parking Lights), and panel light turn on and other exterior light controls are stopped.

Interior light control system 
  • Turn the interior light off.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Main body ECU connector or terminal malfunction
  • Power source control (power management control ECU) connector or terminal malfunction
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between main body ECU terminal E1-13 and power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-15
  • Short to power supply in wiring harness between main body ECU terminal E1-13 and power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-15
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between main body ECU terminal E1-13 and power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-15
  • Main body ECU malfunction
  • Power source control (power management control ECU) malfunction
