DTC U2013-13: Switch Pack circuit open [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT CLUSTER SWITCH CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Switch the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    3. Disconnect the cluster switch connector.
    4. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    5. Is the connector normal?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    No

    Yes

  2. INSPECT COMBINATION METER CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
    2. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    3. Is the connector normal?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    No

    Yes

  3. INSPECT CLUSTER SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
    1. Verify that the cluster switch and combination meter connectors are disconnected.
    2. Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):
      1. Combination meter terminal D55-23 - Cluster switch terminal D57-6
      2. Combination meter terminal D55-1 - Cluster switch terminal D57-2
    3. Is there continuity?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  2

    No

    Yes

  4. INSPECT CLUSTER SWITCH 
    1. Inspect the cluster switch.

      Refer to INSPECTION [07/2015 - ]

    2. Is the cluster switch normal?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    No

    Yes

  5. VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED 
    1. Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
    2. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    3. Clear the DTC for the combination meter using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

      Body Electrical > Instrument Cluster > Clear DTCs 

    4. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 5 s or more.
    5. Retrieve the combination meter DTCs using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

      Body Electrical > Instrument Cluster > Trouble Codes 

    6. Is the same DTC displayed?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  2

    Yes

  6. VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED 
    1. Are any other DTCs displayed?

      Result

      Proceed to
      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    No 

    DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED. 

    Result:  2

    Yes 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE THE MALFUNCTIONING PART ACCORDING TO THE APPLICABLE DTC TROUBLESHOOTING. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2015 - ] 

  7. REPEAT THE INSPECTION FROM STEP 1. 
    1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the combination meter.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    2. Go to the next step.

      Result

  8. REPLACE THE CLUSTER SWITCH. 
    1. Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]
    2. Then go to the next step.

  9. REFER TO THE WIRING DIAGRAM AND VERIFY WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A COMMON CONNECTOR BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING TERMINALS: 
    • Combination meter terminal D55-23 - Cluster switch terminal D57-6
    • Combination meter terminal D55-1 - Cluster switch terminal D57-2

    If there is a common connector: 

    • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
    • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

    If there is no common connector: 

    • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.
    1. Go to the next step.

      Result

  10. REPAIR OR REPLACE THE CONNECTOR. 
    1. Then go to the next step.
