DTC B1D02-13: Left High Beam Circuit circuit open [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT POWER SOURCE CONTROL (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU) CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Switch the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    3. Disconnect the power source control (power management control ECU) connector.
    4. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    5. Is the connector normal?

      Yes
      No

    No

  2. VERIFY POWER SOURCE CONTROL (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU) POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE 
    1. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    2. Measure the voltage at the power source control (power management control ECU) terminal A27-2 (wiring harness-side).
    3. Is the voltage B+?

      Result

      With headlight assembly (bulb type) Yes (A)
      With headlight assembly (LED type) Yes (B)
      - No

  3. VISUALLY INSPECT HEADLIGHT HI/LO BULB (LH) 
    1. Visually inspect the headlight HI/LO bulb (LH).
    2. Is the headlight HI/LO bulb (LH) normal?

  4. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (LH) CONNECTOR CONDITION 
    1. Switch the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    3. Disconnect the headlight assembly (LH) connector.
    4. Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
    5. Is the connector normal?

  5. INSPECT HEADLIGHT HI (LH) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
    1. Verify that the headlight assembly (LH) connector is disconnected.
    2. Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:
      • Headlight assembly (LH) terminal A24-6 (With headlight assembly (bulb type) and without headlight manual leveling system)
      • Headlight assembly (LH) terminal A23-4 (With headlight assembly (LED type) or headlight manual leveling system)
    3. Is there continuity?

  6. INSPECT HEADLIGHT HI (LH) CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
    1. Verify that the headlight assembly (LH) and power source control (power management control ECU) connectors are disconnected.
    2. Inspect the wiring harness for continuity between headlight assembly (LH) terminal A24-1 (bulb type), A23-1 (LED type) (wiring harness-side) and power source control (power management control ECU) terminal A27-1 (wiring harness-side).
    3. Is there continuity?

  7. VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (LH) DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY 
    1. Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
    2. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    3. Clear the DTC for the power source control (power management control ECU) using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

      Body Electrical > Electric Supply Unit > Clear DTCs 

    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch to the HEAD position and the dimmer switch to HI position.
    5. Retrieve the power source control (power management control ECU) DTCs using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

      Body Electrical > Electric Supply Unit > Trouble Codes 

    6. Is the same DTC displayed?

      Result

      Yes
      No

    Result:  1

    No

  8. VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED 
    1. Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
    2. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    3. Clear the DTC for the power source control (power management control ECU) using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

      Body Electrical > Electric Supply Unit > Clear DTCs 

    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch to the HEAD position and the dimmer switch to HI position.
    5. Retrieve the power source control (power management control ECU) DTCs using the Techstream.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

      Body Electrical > Electric Supply Unit > Trouble Codes 

    6. Is the same DTC displayed?

  9. VERIFY IF OTHER DTCS DISPLAYED 
    1. Are any other DTCs displayed?

    REPAIR OR REPLACE THE MALFUNCTIONING PART ACCORDING TO THE APPLICABLE DTC TROUBLESHOOTING. 

    1. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2015 - ]
  10. REPEAT THE INSPECTION FROM STEP 1. 
    1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the power source control (power management control ECU).

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    2. Go to the next step.

  14. REFER TO THE WIRING DIAGRAM AND VERIFY WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A COMMON CONNECTOR BETWEEN HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (LH) AND POWER SOURCE CONTROL (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU). 
    1. Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between headlight assembly (LH) terminal A24-1 (bulb type), A23-1 (LED type) and power source control (power management control ECU) terminal A27-1.

      If there is a common connector: 

      1. Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
      2. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

      If there is no common connector: 

      1. Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.
    2. Go to the next step.

  15. REFER TO THE WIRING DIAGRAM AND VERIFY WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A COMMON CONNECTOR BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING TERMINALS 
    • Headlight assembly (LH) terminal A24-6 - Body ground (With headlight assembly (bulb type))
    • Headlight assembly (LH) terminal A23-4 - Body ground (With headlight assembly (LED type))

    If there is a common connector: 

    1. Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
    2. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

    If there is no common connector: 

    1. Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.
    1. Go to the next step.

  16. REPAIR OR REPLACE THE CONNECTOR. 
    1. Then go to the next step.

  20. INSPECT THE H/L LH 20 A FUSE AND MAIN 200 A FUSE. 
    1. If the fuse is blown:
      • Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between MAIN 200 A fuse and power source control (power management control ECU) terminal A27-2.

      If there is a common connector: 

      1. Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.
      2. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

      If there is no common connector: 

      1. Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.
      2. Replace the fuse.
    2. If the fuse is damaged:
      • Replace the fuse.
    3. If the fuse is normal:
      • Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between battery positive terminal and power source control (power management control ECU) terminal A27-2.

      If there is a common connector: 

      1. Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
      2. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

      If there is no common connector: 

      1. Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.
    4. Go to the next step.

      Result
