DTC P0C76-523: EV Battery System Discharge Time Too Long: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs related to the EV control system are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only P0C76-523 is output, or DTCs other than the ones in the table below are also output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B

      HINT: 

      • *1: If any INF codes are output for this DTC, refer to the corresponding diagnostic procedure.
      • P0C76-523 may be output due to a malfunction which causes the DTCs in the table above to be output. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the table above. Then, perform a reproduction test to check that no DTCs are output.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    5. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    6. Turn the power switch off.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    2. Turn the power switch off.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    6. Check if DTCs related to the EV control system are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      None of the following DTCs are output. A
      DTCs shown in Table 1 are output. B
      DTCs shown in Table 2 are output. C

    A: Go to next step 

  4. PERFORM SIMULATION TEST 
    1. Begin with the SOC at 10% or less.
    2. Turn the power switch off and wait for 20 seconds. [A]
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG). [B]
    4. Turn the power switch off again. [C]
    5. Repeat procedures [A] through [C], 10 times.
    6. Begin normal charging, and continue charging until the SOC is 35% or more.

      HINT: 

      To shorten charging time, charging at 240 V is recommended.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs related to the EV control system are output.

      Result

      None of the following DTCs are output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B

      P0A78-121 Drive Motor "A" Inverter Performance
      P0A94-127 Inverter Performance

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PLUG-IN CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Plug-in Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs related to the Plug-in control system are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      None of the following DTCs are output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B

      P321D-644 Charging System Voltage High
    5. Turn the power switch off.

  7. GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  8. REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  9. REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  10. GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  11. REPLACE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS
