DTC P0A1F-832: Battery Energy Control Module; DTC P0A1F-833: Battery Energy Control Module: Procedure

  1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL (CONTACT PROBLEM) 
    1. Check the connection of the auxiliary battery terminal.

      OK

      The terminal is connected securely and there is no contact problem.

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) See step   6 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - IGCT RELAY) 
    1. Remove the IGCT relay from the No. 2 motor compartment relay block.
    2. Disconnect the power management control ECU connectors.

      *1 No. 2 Motor compartment Relay Block *2 IGCT Relay
      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Management Control ECU)
      - -
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A24-8 (+B1) - 5 (IGCT relay) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      A23-6 (+B2) - 5 (IGCT relay) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
    4. Install the IGCT relay.
    5. Reconnect the power management control ECU connectors.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 
    1. Check for intermittent problems. Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS .
      1. Check the connection and terminal contact pressure of connectors and wire harnesses between the power management control ECU and the No. 2 motor compartment relay block assembly.
      2. When the power switch is on (READY), jiggle the connectors and wire harnesses between the power management control ECU and the No. 2 motor compartment relay block assembly.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Problem symptom does not recur. A
      Problem symptom recurs. B

    B → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    A: Go to next step 

  5. POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU MUST BE REPLACED 
    1. Even though it has been determined that the power management control ECU needs to be replaced, make sure to inspect the voltage difference between No. 1 EV battery and No. 2 EV battery before replacing it.

    NEXT → See step   6 

  6. GO TO NO. 1 EV BATTERY - NO. 2 EV BATTERY VOLTAGE DIFFERENCE INSPECTION. Refer to  No. 1 EV Battery - No. 2 EV Battery Voltage Difference Inspection
