DTC P0705-757: Transmission Range Sensor Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SHIFT POSITION) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Data List / Shift Sensor SW.
    4. While slowly moving the shift lever from P to B, then back to P, read the Data List (shift position) displayed on the Techstream.

      HINT: 

      Be sure to move the shift lever slowly.

    5. Check if DTCs are not output.

      OK

      DTC P0705-757 is not output.

    6. Turn the power switch off.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

    OK → See step   6 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

  3. CHECK SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Turn the power switch off.

    OK → See step   6 

    NG → See step   4 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      B5-7 (+B) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      (to Shift Lever Position Sensor)
      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the shift lever position sensor connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Reconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      NOTE:

      *: The resistance between terminals B5-7 (+B) and B5-2 (N) should be between 4.2 and 5.2 kΩ.

    3. Reconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU MUST BE REPLACED 
    1. Even though it has been determined that the power management control ECU needs to be replaced, make sure to inspect the voltage difference between No. 1 EV battery and No. 2 EV battery before replacing it.

  7. REPLACE SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  8. GO TO NO. 1 EV BATTERY - NO. 2 EV BATTERY VOLTAGE DIFFERENCE INSPECTION. Refer to  No. 1 EV Battery - No. 2 EV Battery Voltage Difference Inspection
