DTC P0AFC-123: EV Battery No. 1 Pack Sensor Module: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV BATTERY)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV Battery / Trouble Codes.
- Read output DTCs.RESULT
Result Proceed to P31AB-123, P1A61-123 and P1A64-123 is not output. A P31AB-123, P1A61-123 or P1A64-123 is output. B - Turn the power switch off.

- CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (EV BATTERY)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV Battery / Trouble Codes.
- Read the freeze frame data of DTC P0AFC-123.RESULT
Result Proceed to "+B" is 11 V or higher A "+B" is below 11 V B - Turn the power switch off.

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV Battery / Data List / +B
- Read the value displayed on the Techstream.

- Recharge the auxiliary battery. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 3 .

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (BATTERY NO. 1 BLOCK VOLTAGE, BATTERY NO. 2 BLOCK VOLTAGE)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV Battery / Data List / Battery No. 1 Block Voltage -V01 to V12 and Battery No. 2 Block Voltage -V01 to V12
- Separately find the sums of Battery No. 1 Block Voltage - V01 to V12 and also Battery No. 2 Block Voltage - V01 to V12.
- Find the difference between the sum of Battery No. 1 Block Voltage - V01 to V12 and the sum of No. 2 Battery No. 2 Block Voltage - V01 to V12.
Standard
The difference between the two sums has an absolute value of less than 5 V.
HINT:
Refer to the following formula to calculate the difference.
|(Battery No. 1 Block Voltage -V01 + V02 + V03 + V04 + V05 + V06 + V07 + V08 + V09 + V10 + V11 + V12) - (Battery No. 2 Block Voltage -V01 + V02 + V03 + V04 + V05 + V06 + V07 + V08 + V09 + V10 + V11 + V12)| < 5 V
RESULTResult Proceed to Difference between the two sums is 5 V or more. A Difference between the two sums is less than 5 V. B - Turn the power switch off.

- Perform the Utility "Battery Pack Malf Fail-Safe Drive History Clear". Refer to UTILITYNOTE:
For the Techstream data that was read out in step 5, if the difference between the sum of Battery No. 1 Block Voltage - V01 to V12 and the sum of No. 2 Battery No. 2 Block Voltage - V01 to V12 is 5 V or more, make sure to perform the battery pack malfunction fail-safe drive history clear after replacing the electric vehicle battery assembly.

- Perform the Utility "Battery Pack Malf Fail-Safe Drive History Clear". Refer to UTILITY
- CLEAR DTC
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV Battery / Trouble Codes.
- Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.
- Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV BATTERY)
- Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV Battery / Trouble Codes.
- Read output DTCs.RESULT
Result Proceed to P0AFC-123 is output A P300E-123 is output B DTC is not output C - Turn the power switch off.

- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.NOTE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.
- Check the connections of the Gi1 connector of the electric vehicle battery assembly.
OK
The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.

- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AM AND IGCT VOLTAGE) WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.NOTE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.
- Disconnect the electric vehicle battery assembly connector.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).NOTE:
Turning the power switch on (IG) with the service grip removed causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
