DTC P0A85-123: EV Battery No. 1 Pack Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit High: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV BATTERY) See step   1 

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY (VOLTAGE) 
    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Using a service wire, connect terminals A22-11 (SI0) and C21-17 (E01) of the power management control ECU connector.

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Motor Compartment Main Wire to Floor Wire)
      - -

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      AG1-13 - Body ground Battery cooling blower is operating 6 V or less
      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the service grip removed causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    6. Turn the power switch off.
    7. Disconnect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    8. Disconnect the service wire.

    OK → See step   5 

    NG → See step   3 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY - ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the battery cooling blower assembly connector.
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A37-2 (VM0) - A37-4 (GND0) Power switch on (IG) 6 V or less

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Battery Cooling Blower Assembly)

      HINT: 

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the battery cooling blower assembly connector disconnected causes the DTC P0A84-123 to be stored. Clear the DTCs using the Techstream after performing this inspection.

    5. Turn the power switch off.
    6. Disconnect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    7. Connect the battery cooling blower assembly connector.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. REPLACE BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to COMPONENTS

    NEXT → See step   8 

  5. REPLACE ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to COMPONENTS

    NEXT → See step   8 

  6. REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    NEXT → See step   8 

  7. GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID BATTERY SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  8. GO TO NO. 1 EV BATTERY - NO. 2 EV BATTERY VOLTAGE DIFFERENCE INSPECTION. Refer to  No. 1 EV Battery - No. 2 EV Battery Voltage Difference Inspection
