Power Switch Illumination Circuit: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Active Test.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.
      SMART KEY

      Techstream Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Power SW Light Power switch light OFF or ON When performing this Active Test, make sure the following condition is met:
      The power switch illumination is off (15 seconds or more have elapsed since it turned from on to off) and the power switch is on (ACC or IG), or the EV control system is running.

      OK

      Power switch illumination comes on.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   5 

  2. INSPECT POWER SWITCH 
    1. Inspect the power switch. Refer to INSPECTION .

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the C15 power switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the C19 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C15-11 (SWIL) - C19-11 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      C15-11 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C15-5 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   6 

  4. REPLACE POWER SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  5. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  6. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL
