Back-up Light Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      OK

      EV control system DTCs are not output.

    NG → See step   7 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (BACK UP LP RELAY) 
    1. Inspect the No. 1 integration relay (BACK UP LP relay). Refer to INSPECTION .

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the 1C No. 1 integration relay connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connector Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1C-4 - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1C-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH AND RH - NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the 1D No. 1 integration relay connector.
    2. Disconnect the G40 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the G39 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1D-3 - G40-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      1D-3 - G39-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      1D-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G40-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G39-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the 1D No. 1 integration relay connector.
    2. Disconnect the A23 power management control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1D-7 - A23-18 (BL) Always Below 1 Ω
      1D-7 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   6 

  6. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  7. GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  8. REPLACE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (BACK UP LP RELAY). Refer to  REMOVAL
