DTC B16F1: Passenger Side Belt Warning Indicator Circuit: Procedure
- CHECK CONNECTORS
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag ECU assembly and combination meter assembly.
OK
The connectors are properly connected.
HINT:
If the connectors are not connected securely, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.
- Disconnect the connectors from the airbag ECU assembly and combination meter assembly.
- Check that the terminals of connectors are not damaged.
OK
The connectors are not deformed or damaged.
NG → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (OPEN)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

NG → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (SHORT TO B+)
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D27-15 (PBE) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V - Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

OK: Go to next step
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (SHORT TO GROUND)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

NG → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- CHECK PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT CONDITION
- Connect the connectors to the combination meter assembly.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Check the passenger seat belt warning light operation after the ignition switch is turned to ON.
OK
Blinks for 6 seconds and then goes off

OK: Go to next step
- Connect the connectors to the combination meter assembly.
- CHECK DTC
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Connect the connector to the airbag ECU assembly.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Clear the DTCs stored in memory. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2013 - ] .
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2013 - ]

DTC B16F1 is not output.

Codes other than DTC B16F1 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
