DTC B1646/29: Rear Sensor LH Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH

    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Interchange the rear airbag sensor LH with rear airbag sensor RH and connect the connectors to them.
    4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the auxiliary battery.
    5. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    6. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    7. Turn the power switch off.
    8. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    9. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1641/19 and B1646/29 are not output. A
      DTC B1646/29 is output. B
      DTC B1641/19 is output. C

      *1 Rear Airbag Sensor RH
      *2 Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH

      HINT: 

      DTCs other than B1641/19 and B1646/29 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    10. Turn the power switch off.
    11. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    12. Return the rear airbag sensor LH and rear airbag sensor RH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.

  2. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  3. REPLACE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  4. REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
