DTC B1642/81: Lost Communication with Side Satellite Sensor Bus RH: Description

The side and rear collision sensor RH circuit (to determine deployment of the front seat airbag assembly RH, front seat outer belt assembly RH, curtain shield airbag assembly RH and rear window curtain shield airbag assembly) is composed of the airbag ECU assembly, door side airbag sensor RH, side airbag sensor assembly RH and rear airbag sensor RH.

The door side airbag sensor RH, side airbag sensor assembly RH and rear airbag sensor RH detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the airbag ECU assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

This DTC is stored when a malfunction is detected for the side and rear collision sensor RH circuit (to determine deployment of the front seat airbag assembly RH, front seat outer belt assembly RH, curtain shield airbag assembly RH and rear window curtain shield airbag assembly).
