DTC B1634/81: Lost Communication with Rear Sensor Bus RH: Procedure
- CHECK CONNECTORS
- Turn the power switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Check that the connectors are properly connected to the side airbag sensor assembly RH and rear airbag sensor RH.
OK
The connectors are properly connected.
HINT:
If the connectors are not connected securely, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.
- Disconnect the connectors from the side airbag sensor assembly RH and rear airbag sensor RH.
- Check that the terminals of connectors are not damaged.
OK
The connectors are not deformed or damaged.
NG → REPLACE WIRE HARNESS
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH

- Interchange the side airbag sensor assembly RH with side airbag sensor assembly LH and connect the connectors to them.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Clear the DTCs stored in the memory. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
- Turn the power switch off.
- Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

Result Proceed to DTC B1634/81 is output A DTC B1634/81 and B1644/82 are not output B DTC B1644/82 is output C TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*1 Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH *2 Door Side Airbag Sensor RH - Turn the power switch off.

- Return the side airbag sensor assembly RH and side airbag sensor assembly LH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.

- Using a service wire, connect terminals 2 (BER+) and 1 (BER-) of connector C.

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage

- Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Clear the DTCs stored in the memory. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
- Turn the power switch off.
- Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

Result Proceed to DTCs B1634/81 and B1644/82 are not output. A DTC B1634/81 is output. B DTC B1644/82 is output. C HINT:
Codes other than DTCs B1634/81 and B1644/82 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
- Turn the power switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
