Speedometer Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SPEED METER OPERATION)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
- According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.COMBINATION METER
Techstream Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Speed Meter Operation Speedometer 0, 40, 80 mph Vehicle is stopped and power switch on (IG) OK
Speedometer indication is normal.

OK: Go to next step
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (VEHICLE SPEED METER)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
- According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.COMBINATION METER
Techstream Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Vehicle Speed Meter Vehicle speed/ Min.: 0, Max.: 255 Approximately same as actual vehicle speed (When vehicle is being driven) - OK
Vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the speedometer indication.

- CHECK ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM
- Check if a electronically controlled brake DTC is output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR
