Back-up Light Circuit: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM)
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

EV control system DTCs are not output.
NG → See step 7
OK: Go to next step
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR

- INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (BACK UP LP RELAY)
- Inspect the No. 1 integration relay (BACK UP LP relay). Refer to INSPECTION .
NG → See step 8
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the 1C No. 1 integration relay connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connector Switch Condition Specified Condition 1C-4 - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1C-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH AND RH - NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the 1D No. 1 integration relay connector.
- Disconnect the G40 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
- Disconnect the G39 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1D-3 - G40-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω 1D-3 - G39-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω 1D-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher G40-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω G39-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the 1D No. 1 integration relay connector.
- Disconnect the A23 power management control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1D-7 - A23-18 (BL) Always Below 1 Ω 1D-7 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → See step 6
- REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to REMOVAL
- GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
- REPLACE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (BACK UP LP RELAY). Refer to REMOVAL
