DTC B1698/82: Door Side Airbag Sensor LH Initialization Incomplete: Description

The circuit for the side collision sensor LH (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag LH and curtain shield airbag LH) is composed of the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor LH (for front side) and side airbag sensor LH (for rear side).

The side airbag sensor LH (for front side) and side airbag sensor LH (for rear side) detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1698/82 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the circuit for the side collision sensor LH (for front side) (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag LH and curtain shield airbag LH).
