DTC B1695/16: Door Side Airbag Sensor LH Malfunction; DTC B1697/82: Lost Communication with Door Side Airbag Sensor LH: Description

for DTC B1695/16:

The side airbag sensor LH (for front side) consists of the safing sensor, the diagnostic circuit, the lateral deceleration sensor, etc.

If the center airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.

DTC B1695/16 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the side airbag sensor LH (for front side) circuit.

for DTC B1697/82:

The circuit for the side collision sensor LH (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag LH and curtain shield airbag LH) is composed of the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor LH (for front side) and side airbag sensor LH (for rear side).

The side airbag sensor LH (for front side) and side airbag sensor LH (for rear side) detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1697/82 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the circuit for the side collision sensor LH (for front side) (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag LH and curtain shield airbag LH).
