DTC B1693/81: Door Side Airbag Sensor RH Initialization Incomplete: Description

The circuit for the side collision sensor RH (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag RH and curtain shield airbag RH) is composed of the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor RH (for front side) and side airbag sensor RH (for rear side).

The side airbag sensor RH (for front side) and side airbag sensor RH (for rear side) detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1693/81 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the circuit for the side collision sensor RH (for front side) (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag RH and curtain shield airbag RH).

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
B1693/81 When one of following conditions is met:
  • The center airbag sensor assembly receives a line short circuit signal, an open circuit signal, a short circuit to ground signal or a short circuit to B+ signal in the circuit for the side collision sensor RH (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag RH and curtain shield airbag RH) for 2 seconds.
  • Side airbag sensor RH (for front side) malfunction
  • Side airbag sensor RH (for rear side) malfunction
  • Center airbag sensor assembly malfunction
  • Floor wire
  • Front door wire RH
  • Side airbag sensor RH (for front side)
  • Side airbag sensor RH (for rear side)
  • Center airbag sensor assembly
