Parking Brake Switch Circuit: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.
   MAIN BODY

   Parking Brake SW	Parking brake SW signal/ OFF or ON	OFF: Parking brake switch off ON: Parking brake switch on	-

   OK

   Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

NG → See step   2 

OK → See step   5 

1. Inspect the parking brake switch assembly. Refer to INSPECTION .

NG → See step   6 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the D52 parking brake switch assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the 3C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   D52-1 - 3C-33	Always	Below 1 Ω
   D52-1 - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

4. Reconnect the instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
5. Reconnect the parking brake switch connector.

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

2. Remove the main body ECU from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   3C-33 - 3F-12 (PKB)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   3C-33 - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

4. Reinstall the main body ECU.
5. Reinstall the instrument panel junction block assembly.

NG → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
