Warning Buzzer does not Sound: Procedure

  1. CHECK BUZZER (SEAT BELT, KEY REMINDER, TAILLIGHT REMINDER) 
    1. Check that the seat belt, key reminder and taillight reminder warning buzzers sound.

      Result

      Seat belt warning buzzer does not sound
      (where equipped with seat belt warning system)      		 A
      Key reminder warning buzzer does not sound
      (where equipped with key reminder warning system)      		 B
      Taillight reminder warning buzzer does not sound
      (Meter illuminations normal)      		 C
      No warning buzzers sound D

      HINT: 

      • Seat belt warning buzzer on: Ignition switch is on (IG), driver or front passenger seat belt is unfastened, and vehicle speed is 12.4mph (20 km/h) or more.
      • Key reminder warning buzzer on: Ignition switch is off, key is in ignition key cylinder, and driver side door is open.
      • Taillight reminder warning buzzer on: Ignition switch is off, taillight relay switch is on (IG), and driver side door is open.

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
    3. Enter the following menus: Body / Center airbag sensor / Trouble Codes.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No SRS DTCs are output A
      SRS DTCs are output B

    B → See step   6 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
    3. Enter the following menus: Body / Occupant Detection / Trouble Codes.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No occupant classification system DTCs are output A
      Occupant classification system DTCs are output B

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK KEY REMINDER FUNCTION 
    1. Ignition switch is off.
    2. Key is in ignition key cylinder.
    3. Driver side door is open.

      OK

      Key reminder warning buzzer ON.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → See step   12 

  5. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. GO TO SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  7. GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  8. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
    3. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Data List" . Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

  9. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
    3. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Data List" . Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

  10. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the unlock warning switch assembly . Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester
      Connection      		 Switch Condition Specified
      Condition
      1 - 2 Not pushed 10 k Ω or higher
      1 - 2 Pushed Below 1 Ω
    3. Reinstall the unlock warning switch assembly . Refer to INSTALLATION .

    NG → See step   14 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the C6 unlock warning switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2E main body ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C6-1 - 2E-23 (KSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      C6-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the unlock warning switch assembly connector.
    5. Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   12 

  12. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  13. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  14. REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  15. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE) 
    1. Disconnect the H1 front door courtesy light switch LH connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester
      Connection      		 Switch Condition Specified

      H1-1 - Body ground Not pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω
      H1-1 - Body ground Pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Reconnect the front door courtesy light switch LH connector.

    NG → See step   23 

    OK: Go to next step 

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the H1 front door courtesy light switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2A main body ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H1-1 - 2A-21 (DCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the front door courtesy light switch connector.
    5. Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   17 

  17. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  18. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
    3. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Data List" . Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

  19. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  20. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE) 
    1. Disconnect the H1 front door courtesy light switch LH connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester
      Connection      		 Switch Condition Specified
      Condition
      H1-1 - Body ground Not pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω
      H1-1 - Body ground Pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Reconnect the front door courtesy light switch LH connector.

    NG → See step   23 

    OK: Go to next step 

  21. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the H1 front door courtesy light switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2A main body ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H1-1 - 2A-21 (DCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the front door courtesy light switch connector.
    5. Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

    NG → See step   23 

    OK → See step   22 

  22. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  23. REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE). Refer to  REMOVAL
