Inspection Procedure
- CHECK BUZZER (SEAT BELT, KEY REMINDER, TAILLIGHT REMINDER)
- Check that the seat belt, key reminder and taillight reminder warning buzzers sound.
Result
RESULT CHARTResult Proceed to Seat belt warning buzzer does not sound (where equipped with seat belt warning system) A Key reminder warning buzzer does not sound (where equipped with key reminder warning system) B Taillight reminder warning buzzer does not sound (Meter illuminations normal) C No warning buzzers sound D HINT:
- Seat belt warning buzzer on: Ignition switch is on (IG), driver or front passenger seat belt is unfastened, and vehicle speed is 12.4mph (20 km/h) or more.
- Key reminder warning buzzer on: Ignition switch is off, key is in ignition key cylinder, and driver side door is open.
- Taillight reminder warning buzzer on: Ignition switch is off, taillight relay switch is on (IG), and driver side door is open.
B: Go to step 5
C: Go to step 11
D : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
A: Go to next step
- Check that the seat belt, key reminder and taillight reminder warning buzzers sound.
- CHECK SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3..
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.
- Enter the following menus: Body / Center airbag sensor / Trouble Codes.
Result
RESULT CHARTResult Proceed to No SRS DTCs are output A SRS DTCs are output B B: Go To DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .
A: Go to next step
- CHECK OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3..
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.
- Enter the following menus: Body / Occupant Detection / Trouble Codes.
Result
RESULT CHARTResult Proceed to No occupant classification system DTCs are output A Occupant classification system DTCs are output B B: Go To OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM .
A: Go to next step
- CHECK KEY REMINDER FUNCTION
- Ignition switch is off.
- Key is in ignition key cylinder.
- Driver side door is open.
OK:
Key reminder warning buzzer on.
NG : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL ).
OK : REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (See REMOVAL under CLUTCH PEDAL.
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE))
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.
- Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "DATA LIST" (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST
).

).

- INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Remove the unlock warning switch assembly (See UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ).
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 Not pushed 10 kΩ or higher 1 - 2 Pushed Below 1 Ω - Reinstall the unlock warning switch assembly (See INSTALLATION ).
NG : REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ).
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU)
- Disconnect the C6 unlock warning switch assembly connector
- Disconnect the 2E main body ECU connector
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition C6-1 - 2E-23 (KSW) Always Below 1 Ω C6-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω - Reconnect the unlock warning switch assembly connector
- Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK : REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (See REMOVAL under CLUTCH PEDAL.
- INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE)
- Disconnect the H1 front door courtesy light switch LH connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition H1-1 - Body ground Not pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω H1-1 - Body ground Pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the front door courtesy light switch LH connector.
NG : REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE) (See FRONT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH ).
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU)
- Disconnect the H1 front door courtesy light switch connector.
- Disconnect the 2A main body ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition H1-1 - 2A-21 (DCTY) Always Below 1 Ω - Reconnect the front door courtesy light switch connector.
- Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK : REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (See REMOVAL under CLUTCH PEDAL.
- READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (FRONT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE))

NG : REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE) (See FRONT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH ).
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU)
- Disconnect the H1 front door courtesy light switch connector.
- Disconnect the 2A main body ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition H1-1 - 2A-21 (DCTY) Always Below 1 Ω - Reconnect the front door courtesy light switch connector.
- Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

OK : REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (See REMOVAL under CLUTCH PEDAL.
