Engine Unit: Removal

  1. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 4 ignition coil assembly connectors.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and remove the 4 ignition coil assemblies.

  2. REMOVE RADIO SETTING CONDENSER 
    1. Disconnect the radio setting condenser connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and remove the radio setting condenser.
  3. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE 
  4. REMOVE NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE 
    1. Remove the No. 2 ventilation hose.

  5. REMOVE HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE A (FROM HEATER UNIT) 
    1. Loosen the clip and remove heater water outlet hose A.

  6. REMOVE HEATER WATER INLET HOSE A 
    1. Loosen the clip and remove heater water inlet hose A.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Loosen the clip and remove the No. 1 radiator hose.

  8. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Loosen the 2 clips and separate the 2 water by-pass hoses.

    2. Separate the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose from the throttle body.
    3. Loosen the clip and separate the No. 1 vacuum transmitting hose.
    4. Separate the ventilation hose.
    5. Separate the wire harness clamp from the intake manifold.

    6. Remove the 4 bolt and 2 nuts and remove the intake manifold and manifold stay.

    7. Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.
  9. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and remove the fuel delivery pipe with the 4 fuel injectors.
      NOTE: Do not drop the fuel injectors when removing the fuel delivery pipe.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER  (See REMOVAL )
  11. REMOVE INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR  (See REMOVAL )
  12. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  13. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  14. REMOVE FAN BELT ADJUSTING BAR 
    1. Remove the bolt and remove the fan belt adjusting bar.

  15. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE 
    1. Remove the ventilation hose.

  16. REMOVE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK 
  17. REMOVE OIL LEVEL GAGE GUIDE 
    1. Remove the bolt and remove the oil level gage guide.

  18. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Loosen the clip and remove the water by-pass hose.

  19. REMOVE WATER INLET HOSE 
    1. Loosen the 2 clips and remove the water inlet hose.

  20. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Loosen the clip and disconnect the No. 3 water bypass hose.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the water by-pass pipe.

  21. REMOVE AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the air tube assembly.

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and remove the No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  23. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and remove the manifold stay.

  24. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD 
    1. Remove the 5 nuts and remove the exhaust manifold.

  25. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and remove the 4 wire harness clamp brackets.
