Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly With PRETENSIONER: Removal

CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (See PRECAUTION ).

HINT:

The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP
1. Detach the front door opening trim weatherstrip sufficiently to remove the upper and lower center pillar garnishes.

REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP
1. Detach the rear door opening trim weatherstrip sufficiently to remove the upper and lower center pillar garnishes.
REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP
1. Pull portion A, shown in the illustration, toward you, remove the 2 claws on the lower side followed by the claw on the upper side. Then remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER
1. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.

REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the bolt and the anchor plate.

2. Remove the bolt and the shoulder anchor.

3. Disconnect the pretensioner connector.
  1. Using a screwdriver, release the locking button.
  2. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the pretensioner connector.

4. Remove the 2 bolts, the 2 hooks and the retractor.
REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR COVER
1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the shoulder belt anchorage plate cover.

REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 2 bolts, the hook and the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster.
