Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUSES (MET, ECU-B, AM2) 
    1. Remove the MET fuse from the main body ECU.
    2. Remove the ECU-B and AM2 fuse from the engine room relay block.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      METER fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      ECU-B fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      AM2 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reinstall the fuses.

    NG: REPLACE FUSE

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. INSPECT INTEGRATION RELAY (IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Remove the integration relay from the engine room relay block (See REMOVAL ).
    2. Measure the resistance to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1B-1 - 1B-4 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Battery voltage applied to terminals 1B-2 and 1B-3 Below 1 Ω
    3. Reinstall the integration relay.

    NG: REPLACE INTEGRATION RELAY  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F1 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F1-2 (ECUB) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      F1-1 (IG2)-Body ground Ignition switch on 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F1-13 (ET) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the combination meter assembly connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )
