Steering Pad: Removal

CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (See PRECAUTION  ).
  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.
  2. REMOVE STEERING PAD 
    1. Using "TORX" socket wrench T30, loosen the 2 bolts completely.
    2. Pull the steering pad toward you.

    3. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, release the locking button.
    4. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, disconnect the 2 connectors.
    5. Detach the horn terminal.
