Steering Pad: Installation

CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (See PRECAUTION  ).
  1. INSTALL STEERING PAD 
    NOTE: Do not use a steering pad that has been dropped.
    1. Confirm that the ignition switch is turned to OFF.
    2. Confirm that the negative battery terminal is detached.
      CAUTION: Do not begin the operation for at least 90 seconds after the negative battery terminal is detached.
    3. Connect the horn terminal.
    4. Connect the airbag connector.
      NOTE:
      • Match the color of the airbag connector with that of the steering pad assembly, and install the airbag connector.

      • Securely lock the locking button.
    5. Install the steering pad.
    6. Using "TORX" socked wrench T30, tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 8.8 N*m (90 kgf*cm, 78 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Tighten the 2 bolts while holding the steering pad to prevent it moving upward.

  2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  3. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  )
