Timing Chain: Replacement

  1. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL 
    1. Using a screwdriver and hammer, tap out the oil seal.

  2. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL 
    1. Place the oil seal retainer on wooden blocks.
    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing gear case edge.

      SST 09223-22010 

      NOTE:
      • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.
      • Do not tap the oil seal at an angle.

      HINT:

      Apply a light coat of MP grease to the lip of a new oil seal.
