Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUSE (TAIL) 
    1. Remove the TAIL fuse from the instrument panel junction block.
    2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.

      Standard resistance: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    NG : REPLACE FUSE 

    OK : Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK COMBINATION METER BUZZER (OPERATION) 
    1. Check the key reminder warning buzzer operation.
      1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
      2. Open the driver side door with the key inserted into the ignition key cylinder.

        OK: 

        Warning buzzer sounds. 

    2. Check the light reminder warning buzzer operation.
      1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
      2. Set the light control switch to the TAIL or HEAD position.
      3. Open the driver side door.

        OK: 

        Warning buzzer sounds. 

        Result 

        RESULT REFERENCE

        Result Proceed to
        Key reminder warning buzzer does not sound A
        Light reminder warning buzzer does not sound B

    B : Go to step   5 

    A : Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the unlock warning switch.
    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω
      Not pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

    NG : REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    OK : Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH - COMBINATION METER AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the U1 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the C6 meter connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      U1-1 - C6-10 Below 1 Ω
      U1-2 - Body ground

    OK : Go to step   7

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

  5. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the headlight dimmer switch.
    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      13 (B1) - 10 (T1) HEAD Below 1 Ω
      TAIL
      OFF 10 kΩ or higher

    NG : REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    OK : Go to Next Step 

  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH - COMBINATION METER AND BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the C8 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the C6 meter connector.
    3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C8-13 (B1) - Body ground 10 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C8-10 (T1) - C6-26 Below 1 Ω

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

    OK : Go to Next Step 

  7. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the courtesy light switch.
    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed (OFF) Below 1 Ω
      Pushed (ON) 10 kΩ or higher

    NG : REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    OK : Go to Next Step 

  8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - COMBINATION METER) 
    1. Disconnect the D5 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the C6 meter connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D5-1 - C6-24 Below 1 Ω

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

    OK : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
