HINT:

All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the lower instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table above.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the instrument panel (see REMOVAL ).
REMOVE STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE HEATER CONTROL AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER CENTER
1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and 2 clips.
  HINT:
  
  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. Disconnect the connectors, and remove the instrument cluster finish panel.

REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER
1. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws, and remove the instrument panel finish panel.
  HINT:
  
  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
1. Push the right side wall, and then push the left wall to release the stoppers.

2. Pull the glove compartment door rearward to remove it.
DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT PARKING LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)
REMOVE STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER PLATE (See REMOVAL )
DISCONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY

REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 3 bolts.

2. Remove the 3 bolts.

3. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

4. Remove the 3 bolts.

5. Remove the bolt and No. 1 instrument panel mounting bracket.

6. Remove the screw.
7. Disconnect the connector, and remove the door control receiver.

8. Remove the bolt.
9. Disconnect the hood lock control cable.
10. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 screws.
11. Remove the 2 screws and 3 nuts, and disconnect the instrument panel junction block.

12. Disconnect the connectors, and then remove the instrument panel.
