Heater Control Assembly: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL KNOB 
    1. Remove the 3 heater control knobs.

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER 
    1. Remove the 4 screws.
    2. Detach the 4 clips and claw, and then remove the instrument cluster finish panel.
    3. Disconnect the connectors.

  6. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 3 screws and disconnect the heater control and accessory assembly.
    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw of the cable clamp and disconnect the defroster damper control cable.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to bend the cable wire.
      • If the cable wire bends, the defroster damper control cable operation may be affected.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    4. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw of the cable clamp and disconnect the air mix damper control cable.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to bend the cable wire.
      • If the cable wire bends, the air mix damper control cable operation may be affected.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    5. Remove the heater control and accessory assembly.
  7. REMOVE AIR INLET DAMPER CONTROL LEVER 
    1. Detach the claw, and remove the air inlet damper control lever.

  8. REMOVE HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and heater switch.
