Inspection Procedure

1. Operate the intelligent tester according to the step on the display and select "DATA LIST".

   ECM 

   ITEM AND NORMAL CONDITION

   Engine Spd	Engine speed/Min.: 0 rpm, Max.: 16,383 rpm	Almost the same as actual engine speed (When engine is running)	-

   OK: Engine speed display on the tester is almost the same as the actual engine speed. 

NG : GO TO ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM 

OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Disconnect the C6 meter connector.
2. Using an oscilloscope, check the signal waveform of the meter.
   TESTER CONNECTION AND VEHICLE CONDITION
   
   

   Tester Connection	Tool Setting	Vehicle Condition
   C6-26 - Body ground	5V/DIV., 10 msec./DIV.	Engine idle speed

   OK: As shown in the illustration.

NG : Go to step 3 

OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

1. Disconnect the C6 meter connector.
2. Disconnect the E4 ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

OK: REPLACE ECM
