On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. CONNECT HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.

    2. Start the engine and run at idle.
    3. Select the Active Test mode on the hand-held tester.

      HINT:

      Please refer to the hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.

  2. CHECK ACTUATOR MOTOR OPERATION 
    NOTE: Do not keep a motor relay ON for more than 5 seconds continuously. When operating it continuously, wait 20 seconds between each operation.
    1. Turn the motor relay ON. Check that the actuator motor's operating sounds can be heard.
    2. Turn the motor relay OFF.
    3. Fully depress the brake pedal and hold it for approximately 15 seconds. Check that the pedal's initial depth is maintained for the entire 15 seconds.
    4. Turn the motor relay ON. Check that the pedal does not pulsate.
    5. Turn the motor relay OFF and release the pedal.
  3. CHECK RIGHT FRONT WHEEL OPERATION 
    NOTE:
    • Do not turn ON a solenoid in a manner different than described below.
    • Do not keep a solenoid ON for more than 10 seconds continuously. When operating it continuously, wait 20 seconds between each operation.
    1. With the pedal fully depressed, perform the following operations.
    2. Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids ON simultaneously, and check that the pedal cannot be depressed further.
    3. Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids OFF simultaneously, and check that the pedal can be depressed further.
    4. Turn the motor relay ON, and check that the pedal returns.
    5. Turn the motor relay OFF and release the pedal.
  4. CHECK OTHER WHEEL OPERATION 
    1. Using the same procedures described for the right front wheel, check the solenoids of the other wheels.
      NOTE: The pedal must not be depressed if only the reduction solenoid SFLR, SRRR or SRLR is turned ON.

      HINT:

      Left front wheel: SFLH, SFLR

      Right rear wheel: SRRH, SRRR

      Left rear wheel: SRLH, SRLR
