Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUSE 
    1. Inspect the MAIN fuse in the FL block.

      Standard: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    2. Inspect the DOME fuse in the engine room R/B.

      Standard: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    1. NG: INSPECT FOR SHORT CIRCUIT IN HARNESS AND ALL COMPONENTS CONNECTED TO FUSE 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. Inspect Combination Meter Assy 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      C6-1 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BATTERY - COMBINATION METER ASSY) (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH 
    1. Disconnect the front seat inner belt assy RH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      1 - 3 Front passenger seat is occupied and front passenger side seat belt is fastened 1,200 to 1,460 Ω
      1 - 3 Front passenger seat is occupied and front passenger side seat belt is unfastened 300 to 360 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSY - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector and front seat inner belt connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      C6-33 - B8-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      B8-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      C6-33 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  5. INSPECT CENTER CLUSTER MODULE SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the I13 connector of center cluster module switch.
    2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal I13-9, negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal I13-1.

      Standard: 

      Passenger side seat belt warning light comes on. 

    1. NG: REPLACE CENTER CLUSTER MODULE SWITCH (See )

    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CENTER CLUSTER MODULE SWITCH - COMBINATION METER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the I13 connector of center cluster module switch and combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      I13-9 - C6-35 Always Below 1 Ω
      I13-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      C6-35 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  COMBINATION METER ASSY  )
