Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL SENDER GAGUE ASSY - COMBINATION METER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector and combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      C6-31 - F14-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      C6-31 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F14-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSY 
    1. Remove the fuel sender gauge.
    2. Connect the ohmmeter to terminals 2 and 3.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      FLOAT POSITION AND RESISTANCE

      Float level Float position Specified condition
      F 80.8 to 86.8 mm (3.181 to 3.417 in.) 3.0 to 5.0 Ω
      1/2 15.9 to 21.9 mm (0.626 to 0.862 in.) 52.0 to 58.0 Ω
      E 52.2 to 58.2 mm (2.055 to 2.291 in.) 106.0 to 108.0 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSY 
    2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  COMBINATION METER ASSY  )
