Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (SKY)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the I/P cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Solstice) or Instrument Cluster Replacement (SKY) .
  3. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement (SKY) or Radio Replacement (Solstice) .
  4. Remove the HVAC control module. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement .
  5. Remove the bolts and nuts securing the column to the I/P, lower and position the steering column out of the way. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
1 I/P Carrier Bolt (Qty: 5)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

2 I/P Carrier Screw

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

3 I/P Carrier Nut (Qty: 8)

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

4 I/P Carrier Assembly

Procedures

  1. Note the location and routing of the I/P wiring harness prior to removing the carrier assembly in order to ensure reinstallation.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  3. With the aid of an assistant, remove the carrier from the vehicle.
  4. When replacing the carrier assembly, transfer all necessary components.
