Circuit/System Testing
NOTE:
If equipped, the following tests can be performed at an inline connector. See schematics for the corresponding terminals to test at.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the fuel level sensor.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal C and ground.
- If greater than the specified value, test the low reference circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits tests normal, replace the ECM.
- Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal B and the low reference circuit terminal C. Verify the Fuel Tank Level Remaining parameter is greater than 98 percent.
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the ECM.
- If all circuits test normal, perform the fuel level sensor component test before replacing either the fuel level sensor.
