Circuit/System Description

The IPC calculates and stores the vehicle odometer based on the vehicle speed data from the ECM. When a new valid odometer information is received from the ECM, the IPC updates the odometer display in the DIC and stores the new reading in non volatile memory. The DIC displays the vehicle odometer information in either miles or kilometers.

The IPC is equipped with a trip/reset switch that is used to navigate the DIC vehicle information. The trip/reset switch is used to access the odometer, oil life index, fuel economy, tire pressure learning, key fob programming, units, language, compass and hybrid indication status.
