Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
    IMPORTANT: Prior to installing the seal, inspect theSA9113T  for nicks or burrs that may damage the seal lip.
  1. Clean the seal bore in the housing.
  2. Apply a light bead of Permatex 51531® P/N 21005993 or equivalent on the diameter of the seal that presses into the case bore.

    IMPORTANT: Prior to installing the seal, inspect theSA9113T  for nicks or burrs that may damage the seal lip.
  3. Using the J 44385 and the J 8092 , install the axle seal. Ensure the seal is lined up with the bore during installation.
  4. Install the intermediate drive shaft. Refer to Intermediate Shaft Replacement  .
  5. Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check  .
  6. Install the wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
