Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation - Right Side

    IMPORTANT: All gasket-mating surfaces need to be free of oil and foreign material. Use P/N 12378392 or equivalent to clean surfaces.
    IMPORTANT: Apply sealant GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148), or equivalent, at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint.
  1. Install a new gasket to the valve rocker arm cover. Ensure that the gasket is properly seated in the groove of the valve rocker arm cover.
  2. Apply sealer GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148), or equivalent to the joint surfaces (1) where the cylinder head and intake manifold meet.

  4. Install the valve rocker arm cover.
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  6. Install the valve rocker arm cover bolts, if necessary.

    Tighten:  Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube into the valve rocker arm cover.

  10. Install the ignition coil assembly studs, if necessary.

    Tighten:  Tighten the ignition coil assembly studs to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the ignition coil assembly.
  12. Install the ignition coil assembly bolts and nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the ignition coil assembly bolts and nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
