Timing Chain and Sprockets Cleaning and Inspection

    CAUTION: Bodily injury may occur if the cleaning solvent is inhaled or exposed to the skin.
  1. Clean all components with cleaning solvent.
  2. Dry the components with compressed air.
  3. Inspect the timing chain for binding or wear.

  5. Inspect the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets for:
    • Worn teeth (1)
    • Broken teeth (2)
    • Chipped teeth (3)
  6. Inspect the timing chain dampener for excessive wear or cracks.
