Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC

The history DTC clears after 40 malfunction free warm-up cycles.
The DTC becomes history when the conditions for setting the DTC are no longer present.
The IPC receives the clear code command from the scan tool.

1	Did you perform the instrument panel cluster (IPC) Diagnostic System Check?	Go to Step 2	Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster
2	Install a scan tool. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF. With the scan tool, observe the vehicle identification number (VIN) Information parameter in the BCM ID Information data list. Does the VIN Information parameter match the vehicle VIN?	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 3
3	IMPORTANT: Program the replacement body control module (BCM). Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.Did you complete the replacement?	Go to Step 5	-
4	Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement . Did you complete the replacement?	Go to Step 5	-
5	Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs. Operate vehicle within the Conditions for Running this DTC. Does the DTC reset?	Go to Step 2	System OK
