Installation Procedure

  1. If the glove compartment door cover is being replaced, remove the spring clip and transfer the handle assembly to the new cover.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the latch with the latch fasteners.

    Tighten:  Tighten the latch fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  3. Install the connector rod.

  4. Install the inner cover to the outer cover.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  5. Hold the hinge in the open position.
  6. Guide the swing arm (1) into the opening. Close the compartment door.
  7. Install the middle fastener.
  8. Install the remaining 2 fasteners.
  9. Verify the operation of the compartment door.
