Vacuum Booster: Installation

  1. Position booster in vehicle. Install brake booster-to-brake booster bracket attachment bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Install rubber plug in bottom of cowling. Close and secure HVAC access panel.
  3. Install booster push rod onto brake pedal push rod pin with retainer.
  4. Install lower left instrument panel.
  5. Connect vacuum hose and check valve to booster.
  6. Position master cylinder onto brake booster and install fastening nuts. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Position brake pipes into master cylinder and tighten to specification.
  8. Connect low brake fluid electrical connector.
  9. On models equipped with ABS, install ABS controller. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK BRAKES article.
  10. On all models, bleed brakes. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
