Front Disc Brake Pads: Removal
- Raise vehicle on a hoist.
- Remove front wheels.
- Pry off the locking plate and remove the brake pressure hose from the strut.
- Remove caliper retainer spring. See Fig 1
.
- Remove caliper-to-bracket guide pins.
- Remove caliper assembly and wire caliper to strut.
- Remove inboard and outboard brake pads from caliper assembly.
- Inspect guide pin boots and covers for damage. Replace as necessary.
- Inspect piston boot for deterioration. Overhaul caliper as necessary.
- Inspect guide pin for damage or corrosion. Replace if damaged or corroded.
- Repeat step 3
for opposite side of axle.
