Rear Brake Caliper: Installation

  1. Clean caliper support bracket fasteners thoroughly with brake cleaner.
  2. Apply Loctite(tm) to caliper support bracket fasteners.
  3. Install caliper assembly to rear axle control arm and tighten. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install brake pipe to caliper assembly. Tighten to specification.
  5. Install brake pads into caliper.
  6. Apply a small amount of silicone grease to the retaining pins.
  7. Install brake pad retaining spring, and drive the brake pad retaining pins in from the inside outward. Ensure brake pads move freely in the guide.
  8. Bleed brakes. Refer to BRAKE BLEEDING SEQUENCE  .
  9. Install rear wheels. Tighten lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  10. Lower vehicle from hoist.
