Rear Drum: Removal

  1. Ensure that parking brake is fully released.
  2. Raise and support vehicle.
  3. Remove rear wheels.
  4. Remove brake drum.
  5. If brake drum is to be reinstalled, use Rotor Resurfacing Kit (J-41013) to clean any rust or corrosion from the hub/flange mating surface of brake drum. If necessary, carefully remove any corrosion from edge of drum braking surface in order to ease installation.
  6. Use Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit (J-42450-A) to clean wheel hub flange.
