Proportioning Valve: Installation

  1. Install proportioning valve assembly to vehicle.
  2. Install proportioning valve assembly bracket mounting nut and bolt. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Secure front light wiring harness to the proportioning valve assembly bracket.
  4. Remove plugs from the proportioning valve assembly ports.
  5. Remove caps or plugs from the master cylinder brake pipe ends.
  6. Connect master cylinder brake pipes to the proportioning valve assembly.
  7. Tighten brake pipe fittings at proportioning valve assembly. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Remove caps or plugs from caliper and wheel cylinder brake pipe ends.
  9. Connect caliper and wheel cylinder brake pipes to the proportioning valve assembly.
  10. Tighten brake pipe fittings at the proportioning valve assembly. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  11. Bleed hydraulic brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
  12. Remove shop towel and discard towel into an approved container.
