Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
    CAUTION: In order to prevent SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs, do not strike the door or the door pillar in the area of the side impact sensor (SIS). Turn OFF the ignition and remove the key when performing service in the area of the SIS.
  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in Air Bag Restraint Systems.

  3. Pull to remove the rear carpet retainer.
  4. Pull to disengage the rearward clips from the front carpet retainer.

  6. Remove the anchor bolt from the front seat belt retractor.

  8. Remove the height adjuster knob for the seat belt webbings. Refer to Seat Belt Height Adjuster Knob Replacement - Front in Seat Belts.
  9. Remove the bolt from the adjustable guide loop.
  10. Pull to disengage the garnish molding trim clips.
  11. Slide the top of the lower pillar trim out from beneath the upper pillar trim.

  13. Remove the small trim panel door in the center pillar garnish molding.
  14. Feed the seat belt webbing, the anchor bolt, and the D-ring bolt through the center pillar garnish molding.
  15. Remove the garnish molding from the vehicle.
