Scan Tool Data Definitions
- Brake Fluid Level Status

The scan tool displays OK or Low. The BCM monitors the signal circuit of the brake fluid level switch. A closed switch is displayed as Low with low brake fluid level.
- Calibration Version

The scan tool displays the calibration version number of the IPC.
- Chime State
-
The scan tool displays No Request, On Queued, On, or Off Queued. The state of the chime as commanded by the IPC.
- Coolant Level

The scan tool displays OK or Low. The state of the coolant level switch as commanded by the BCM.
- Driver Door Switch
-
The scan tool displays Open or Closed. The state of the driver door switch as commanded by the BCM.
- ECT
-
The scan tool displays -40 to +151°C (-40 to +304°F). The ECM monitors the voltage at the signal circuit of the engine coolant temperature sensor. The voltage is inversely proportional to the engine coolant temperature.
- Engine Oil Life Remaining
-
The scan tool displays 0-100%. The ECM calculates the remaining engine oil life.
- Engine Speed

The scan tool displays 0-9999 RPM. Engine speed is computed by the ECM. It should remain close to desired idle under various engine loads with the engine idling.
- Fuel Level

The scan tool displays 0-100%. The ECM calculates the amount of fuel remaining in the tank based on the input from the fuel level sensor.
- Fuel Level Sensor

The scan tool displays the state of the fuel level in Volts. The ECM monitors the signal circuit of the fuel level sensor and displays the current voltage.
- High Beam Switch

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the high beam indicator as commanded by the IPC.
- I/P Dimmer Input

The scan tool displays the IPC dimmer input in Volts.
- I/P Dimmer Output

The scan tool displays the IPC dimmer output in percentage.
- Key in Ignition

The scan tool displays Yes or No. The state of the key in ignition switch as commanded by the BCM.
- Last Chime Active
-
The scan tool displays Seat Belt, Key In, Oil Rest, Delayed Lock, Headlamp, Park Brake, Check Gages, or Turn Signal. The IPC stores the last chime active.
- Left Turn Signal

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the left turn signal as commanded by the IPC.
- LF Turn Signal

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the left front turn signal as commanded by the BCM.
- Low Oil Pressure

The scan tool display OK or Low. The state of the engine oil pressure switch as commanded by the ECM.
- LR Turn Signal

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the left rear turn signal as commanded by the BCM.
- Module Type-Export

The scan tool displays Yes or No. The type of BCM installed in the vehicle.
- Odometer

The scan tool displays the current odometer reading in kilometers or miles as recorded in the IPC.
- Park Brake Switch

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the park brake switch as commanded by the BCM.
- Pass Door Switches

The scan tool displays Open or Closed. The state of the passenger door switch as monitored by the BCM.
- Right Turn Signal

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the right turn signal as commanded by the IPC.
- RF Turn Signal

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the right front turn signal as commanded by the BCM.
- RR Turn Signal

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the right rear turn signal as commanded by the BCM.
- Security LED

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the security LED as commanded by the IPC.
- Software Version

The scan tool displays the software version of the BCM.
- Traction Switch

The scan tool displays On or Off. The state of the traction switch as monitored by the BCM.
- Trip Odometer

The scan tool displays the current trip odometer reading in kilometers or miles as recorded in the BCM.
- Trip Odometer Reset

The scan tool displays Pressed or Released. The state of the trip odometer reset switch as commanded by the IPC.
- Turn/Hazard Input

The scan tool displays the turn/hazard input in volts as monitored by the BCM.
- Vehicle Speed

The scan tool displays 0-255 km/h (0-155 mph). The ECM monitors the signal circuit of the vehicle speed sensor.
- VIN

The current VIN number stored in the BCM.
